The 2008 parish pilgrimage to Italy (Bolsena, Orvieto, and
Assisi) was very successful. During the pilgrimage, and at a
subsequent social gathering, many pilgrims expressed a real desire
to participate in another one, overseas.
Poland and Fatima/ Compostela are currently being considered.
The Pilgrimage Team is hoping that the parishioners will vote soon
on their preferred destination. We are also hoping to recruit new
members - so that when planning, we constantly have new ideas and a
wide, productive outlook.
A day return to Canterbury Cathedral on June 25th has
also been planned; Father Jim has very kindly agreed to lead it.
Further information and mass details will be issued at a later
date, after names and the actual number of pilgrims have been
confirmed.
A pilgrimage for the disabled will hopefully be made to Lourdes
in August 2010; this will help to celebrate the 40 year anniversary
of our parish, Corpus Christi.
We hope, too, that pilgrimages, both in the UK and overseas,
will take place regularly. For those overseas, we will always
enlist the help and guidance of a professional company - for
example, Pax Travel, which specialises in pilgrimages.
Please contact Chris Hall, John Hennessey or Julie Hughes if you
would like to become a part of this planning team - everyone is
welcome.
