CTW, as we usually call ourselves, is an association which
includes most of the Christian Churches in Wokingham, from all of
the main denominations.
Events organized either by participant churches, or by CTW
itself take place throughout the year, such as: evangelical and
witness events , Unity Services, prayer groups and market
stalls.
By these events we demonstrate Christian unity to the people of
Wokingham and seek the power of shared, combined worship in the
name of Jesus.
Many outreach and mission initiatives in the community are
supported or sponsored by CTW such as:
- Green Care Farm (providing a working farm environment for
disadvantaged and disabled young people)
- Seaford Court (a special housing unit for homeless young
people)
- Eustace Crescent (a community flat used for faith events and
community support)
- Link Visiting Scheme (a befriending service primarily for the
elderly)
- Stagefright theatre group (opportunities for creative arts for
young people within a Christian framework)
- Area Schools Christian Worker Trust (WASCWT) (lessons,
assemblies, Christian Union support, etc for many local secondary
schools)
- Hospital Gardening Project (gardening and visiting services for
Wokingham Hospital)
- Just Around the Corner (JAC) (Street work in Woosehill and
Winnersh)
- Suffolk Lodge (visiting services for Nursing Homes in
Wokingham) Al of these initiatives require help through prayer,
volunteers and financial support.
