We are currently responsible for 4 areas of Parish Life: Child
Protection, Special Needs, Sick Visiting and Bereavement
Support.
Special Needs
We continue to try to address any special needs of the Parish
especially within the church itself. Achievements to date
include many accessibility issues, We
are also grateful to the prisoners of Swansea prison for providing
a wheel chair. This is located in the porch and its prime use
if to help parishioners get from the car park into church.
However, it can be borrowed at any other time provided it is booked
with the Parish Office.
Sick Visiting
Currently, the sick who are known to the Pa rish are usually
visited by Eucharistic Ministers, the UCM and the Catenians.
This important area of parish life is currently under review so
that we may be in a position to offer many other types of help to
those who would like it.
Bereavement Support
As a parish we try to help those who have been bereaved and
remember their loved ones at monthly masses during the year.
There is a memorial book in the church porch in which we invite
parishioners to write the names of those people they would like to
be remembered in our prayers and at these masses.
When someone dies we try to send a card to the bereaved family to
let them know that we are thinking of them and praying for their
loved one. We also send an anniversary card 12 months
later.
